MEMBERSHIP
​WID provides a dynamic, forward-thinking community for developing leadership skills, cultivating relationships, as well as mentoring, and education through a variety of national and regional events addressing some of the most pressing national defense issues. Membership in WID is open to all professional women and men whose primary professional activities are related to national defense or support any aspect of national security.

WID CHAPTER LEADERSHIP
Participate in a local WID Chapter to multiply your contacts, expand your knowledge, and showcase your talents through volunteering. WID members develop their leadership skills by serving on chapter board of directors and program committees, as well as participate in leadership positions at the WID national level.

GIVING BACK & SCHOLARSHIPS
An opportunity to give back to the profession through educational and networking events, mentoring, and community service activities. Since its establishment in 1988, the WID Scholar program, previously HORIZONS, has awarded more than $675,000 to more than 165 recipients pursuing degrees ranging from law to engineering to math to public policy.
In addition, the WID Greater Boston Chapter has its own chapter scholarship programs for students pursuing STEM degrees with an interest in national security.
MEMBERSHIP DUES
​WID offers complimentary one-year memberships to all currently serving military and government employees. After the first year, annual dues are $40. Individual WID member dues for academia, industry and small business are $40, or $500 for a lifetime membership. Membership includes a subscription to the National Defense Magazine.
